July 2nd 2023 - Group exhibition “Vitne” at Falstadsenteret, Ekne, Norway

“Prolazi izmedju 1980-2021 (Passages between 1980-2021)” 2021 will be on view in the exhibition “Vitne” (Witness) at Falstadsenteret starting July 2nd 2023. During WW2, SS etablished a concentration camp for political prisoners at Falstadsenteret in Ekne, Norway. The camp operated between 1941-1945 and in 2000, Falstadsenteret became a documentation center for the history of prisoners of war, international humanitarian law and human rights.

The exhibition “Vitne” (Witness) explores the use of historical evidence in the interpretation of events and processes in the present. The exhibition will be mounted in the building formerly used as the commander’s living quarters.

Participanting artists are: Anne Karin Furunes, Edvine Larsen, Damir Avdagic, Kristina Norman, Corina Apostol og Siri Austeen. The exhibition is curated by Anne-Gro Erikstad and will be on view until Sept. 9th 2023.
